Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that a New Year’s resolution would evolve into an ongoing crusade for many years.
The journey started on the West Orange Trail from Oakland to Winter Garden, Clermont and Apopka and gradually expanded to other trails in Central Florida. One of my support riders, W.E. Harris, accompanied me on some of the most memorable trips which included encounters with alligators, snakes, and cows; passing by otters, llamas, white tail deer and a herd of longhorn steer; and riding through construction projects, by homeless sites and through horse ranch areas.
